This is episode 49 and today I’m here with Kim John Payne talking about Simplicity Parenting.

Kim John Payne is the author of the book Simplicity Parenting and he has spent 27 years as a consultant, speaker, trainer, school counselor, adult educator, researcher, and private family counselor working to help give voice to the feeling that something is not okay about the new normal of overwhelm.

Adventure of the Week

We share some of our regular sailing/writing days.

Our Little Obsession

Environment: He explains why he recommends having only a few toys and what kind of materials he recommends.

Rhythm: He discusses what rhythm looks like and how children benefit from it.

Schedule: We cover what we should keep in mind as we intentionally design our family schedule in a post-pandemic world.

*Village Bonus Q & A

He answers the question “Has your position on technology evolved during this time of social isolation?” and I respond to his warning against technology along with his larger Filtering Out the Adult World principle.
